Super Seven!

Yesterday (and today and tomorrow!), we celebrated Naomi's seventh birthday. She's been looking forward for this day for a while now, and she enjoyed her gifts and cake and spending time with family.

Here she is opening her present from us - the complete Little House on the Prairie set. She loves these books. We've read the whole series together, but she loves to go back and reread them, especially her favourite parts.

Last night, Grandma and Grandpa came over for one of Naomi's favourite suppers - tortellini, with cupcakes for dessert. Here she is getting ready to blow out all those candles:

Another favourite meal today with Oma and Opa - pancakes. She had another go at blowing out candles when we enjoyed cake at snack time. This time she got them all out in one blow!

When I look at these pictures, Naomi seems so grown up! And she has grown up in a lot of ways this year. She is getting to be such a big helper - getting things and cleaning up and sometimes making me breakfast before I get up! Her reading has really taken off this year, and she spends a lot of time with a book in her hands. But she still loves to just pretend and play too. She loves to role play, especially characters from the books she's reading. And she is still so expressive about her faith - singing praise songs and praying for causes close to home and far away.

We love this girl of ours, with all her imagination and personality! Happy birthday, Naomi, and may God continue to bless you as you are a blessing to those around you!
