Elijah's baptism

Well, I'm behind again! Elijah was baptized almost two weeks ago, and I'm just getting these pictures up now.

Here he is in the baptism gown made by Steve's mom, and worn by all of her children, and all seven of her grandchildren.
My Opa was able to baptize Elijah. One of the songs we chose to have sung after the baptism was "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever." We have sung that after each of the four kids have been baptized. My favourite words in the song are "Thy faithfulness to all generations." We feel so blessed to come from strong Christian families, and know that our children are blessed by having Christian grandparents and great-grandparents that love and pray for them. It was meaningful for us to have my Opa (who turns 88 today!) be able to remind us of God's promises to us and our children.

Opa also took some time to talk to the children gathered at the front and remind them of how important it is for them to make their own decision to follow Christ.
